A description of the good or service offered and what happened.
In March I bought a fridge freezer from Comet. It broke last week. If everything goes according to plan, I will have another identical working fridge freezer by Friday afternoon. I will have to take yet more time from my work for the third time for this delivery. I have had to pay you an additional £70.00 from the original price to achieve this and I will have had 10 days in June with no fridge. I have also lost the contents of the fridge freezer and no compensation for this has been offered.
What have you attempted to do so far?
First technician looked at the appliance on 19/6/08. "Did not have the right equipment".
Second technician looked at the appliance on 23/6/08. "Did not have a spare compressor". Offered replacement appliance from store.
Store refused to deliver replacement in a timely manner. The only way to get a fridge freezer this week was to pay an extra £70.00 for a new one (identical to the old one). The price has changed in the meantime.
Adding up two unecessary times away from work and the cost of the damaged food, this has cost about £150.00. I don't think I got a good deal!
Why you feel your complaint has not been fairly or properly addressed by the company?
I bought from a supposedly reputable specialist electrical appliance company expecting a reasonable level of service. I have spent over an hour on the phone trying to sort things out in an amicable way. I even agreed to transport the replacement appliance in my own car if they would come and help me unload it at the other end. They had at least 6 staff hanging around at the time and it would have taken less than 30 minutes. The concept of "customer service" has never entered their head.
