Bought a laptop for xmas gift december 2 months later constant problem of blue screen of death and screen freezing, recurrent crashes and multiple error codes on screens plus other problems

What have you attempted to do so far?
Several attempt at contacting company by phone only to be passed onto technical helpdesk. Initially stated they had run hardware tests and not found it to be their problem. Kumar Ravish initially did sale, and I contacted him on 14/04/08,08/05/08 and 19/05/08 by e-mail - all mails saved. Contacted by phone by Wasim Pasha from customer services who stated that it was a software problem, followed by e-mail on 16/06/08. Contacted again 23/09/08, problem not solved.

Why you feel your complaint has not been fairly or properly addressed by the company?
I would really like to return the laptop and obtain a refund as it has not been sold fit for purpose.

Mrs Clark has issued an update of the situation - published 21 October 2008
I have now written to Dell and received an immediate response. The laptop has been found to have vista corruption and the fault hopefully now rectified. Their customer service asisstant was very pleasant and helpful, but feel disappointed that it took so long to address.
