I ORDERED 2 LEATHER SOFAS AND A FOOTSTOOL FROM IKEA GATESHEAD STORE. THESE GOODS WERE DELIVERED ON 22/08/08 THEY LOOKED VERY POOR QUALITY SO I TELEPHONED THE STORE WHO SAID THEY NEEDED TO SEND OUT AN INDEPENDENT UPHOLSTERER, SHE WROTE THE REPORT SAYING THE GOODS WERE APPALLING QUALITY AND IKEA AGREED TO PICK UP THE GOODS AND GIVE A REFUND. THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS STARTED. What have you attempted to do so far? BETWEEN OCTOBER 2ND AND NOVEMBER 12TH I HAVE CONTACTED IKEA ABOUT 20 TIMES ONLY TO BE TOLD I WILL GET A CALL BACK. i HAVE EMAILED AND AGAIN HAD RETURN EMAILS SAYING SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU. i HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY BUT THEY SAOID BECAUSE THE TRANSACTION IS MORE THAN 120 DAYS OLD THEY CANT HELP BUT DID PUT ME THROUGH TO SOMEONE FROM IKEA WHO SAID I WILL RECIEVE A CALL I AM STILL WAITING. Why you feel your complaint has not been fairly or properly addressed by the company? I FEEL I HAVE BEEN TREATED APPALLINGLY BY IKEA. THE SOFAS SHOULD HAVE GONE BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER I AM STILL STUCK WITH THEM IN MY FRONT ROOM. I HAVE ORDERED FROM A NEW COMPANY WHO CANNOT GUARANTEE MY LEATHER SOFAS BEFORE CHRISTMAS AS IKEA HAVE TAKEN SO LONG TO RESPOND I HAVE HAD TO PAY INTEREST ON MY CREDIT CARD AS THE MONEY I HAD TO PAY IT OFF HAS NOW BEEN USED TO PURCHASE SOFAS FROM ANOTHER COMPANY. IKEA WERE NOT INTERESTED THAT I WAS LEFT WITHOUT ANY FURNOITURE AND HAVE NEVER APOLOGISED FOR THE STATE OF THE GOODS OR THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ikea have told us that they will contact Ms Carman regarding her complaint.
